Subject: Vaccine Notification for IHSS Providers
IHSS Providers of Orange County:
IHSS Providers have been identified as a priority group, as defined by the County of Orange Health Care Agency (HCA) and the State of California, to receive the COVID-19 vaccine on the basis of doing in-person work with vulnerable populations. This invitation is ONLY for the active working IHSS Providers! IHSS Recipients or other family members are not currently included in this vaccine group. For more information about the COVID-19 vaccine please visit: https://occovid19.ochealthinfo.com/covid-19-vaccine-resources
The following link will allow you to register and schedule an appointment at an upcoming County of Orange COVID-19 vaccination clinic beginning Thursday, January 7, 2021.
Eligible persons can register for vaccination via this link: https://covid19.othena.com/patient-registration/agreement using Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or your mobile browser
(use https://covid19.othena.com/patient-registration/assessment if the first link is down)
After navigating to the link:
- Answer a brief assessment survey to determine the prioritization order (Click here to review the description of the tiers)
- IHSS Providers are considered to have a role in direct health care.
- IHSS Providers are considered to be high risk front line staff providing direct patient care in terms of their risk level
- IHSS Providers are considered to provide care under Tier 1 in terms of the type of facilities care is provided in.
- Accurately identify your age.
- Register and set up an account (you do not need an “invitation code”)
- Occupation = “IHSS Provider”
- Employer = “IHSS Recipient”
- Understand that your answers to this assessment and registration information is required to be accurate under perjury of law
- Select “Book an Appointment” on your web browser
- Schedule an appointment for the initial vaccination dose
OCHCA has recommended that people who had and recovered from COVID-19 still get the vaccine because there is no reliable data on getting re-infected. If you've had COVID-19 in the past 90 days, you can postpone getting your vaccine until that 90-day window has elapsed.
Vaccination for COVID-19 is at your discretion and is not mandatory.
